Piano, Organ and Keyboard Performance

All of the faculty members at the Ed Mascari Piano Studios are professional dedicated music teachers. As part of their interest in being the best piano and keyboard teachers possible they also perform on the piano and organ in various settings.

Ed Mascari has over 3 decades of experience as a jazz performer, beginning as a jazz organist leading his own quartet giving concerts at many New England colleges. Later he played electric piano and synthesizer in “Top 40” bands and performed as a solo pianist at such venues as the Sheraton Boston Hotel and for 14 years at the Radisson Milford Hotel.

Ed has also performed as one third of the Ed Mascari Jazz Trio. The group performed at such venues as the Java Room, the Serendipity Café, Viva Bene and Ken’s Steak House and has given concerts at the Stow MA, Hudson MA, Sudbury MA and Wayland MA Libraries.

Ed currently continues his performing as the music director for the Hartford St Presbyterian Church in Natick, MA. There he plays the piano and organ as well as directing the wonderful church choir.

Faculty member Stan Hanson, a Hudson, MA resident, is very involved in local music and music education, including acting as piano accompanist for Rivers Edge Youth Chorus in Hudson, MA.

Stan is also currently the Music Director at St Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Marlboro where he plays the organ for services every Sunday. In addition he has been the Music Director for several musicals at Hudson MA High School, including Little Shop of Horrors, South Pacific, Charlie Brown, Cinderella, and Spelling Bee.

Faculty member Robert Canavello has been an active participant in piano performance seminars at the New England Conservatory. Focusing on classical music, his solo piano repertoire includes music by Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann and Ludwig van Beethoven.
